"Christmas at the Grange" by T E Kinsey.

It is Christmastime in 1800’s English countryside and for once, Lady Hardcastle - respectable gentlewoman, amateur spy - and her lady's maid, Florence Armstrong, are setting sleuthing aside. They are invited to the village's great house for the holiday activities. But not everything is at it seems.  Of course, there is a case to solve: footprints to investigate, dinner to dress for, and stolen objects to be found.

It is a fun, light read. Though, like several mystery books of this time, the characters figure out who did it, but story doesn’t include how they figured it out. It seems they magically solve the case but don’t tell the reader how. I find this frustrating. But I still liked the story, characters, and all the plot twists along the way.
